Library Aide (10-20 hours, schedule varies and includes Saturdays)

High school diploma, Regents preferred, or relevant experience
Service oriented
Computer literate, with ability to trouble-shoot and learn new programs and resources

Looking for applicant able to manage a variety of tasks, willing to learn library technology and resources (including attending training and other workshops), resourceful in assisting patrons, and able to interact well with patrons and coworkers. 

Responsibilities include opening and closing the library, working at the circulation desk, assisting patrons with questions about materials and technology, shelving work in stacks, assisting with setup and facilitation of library events, daily cleaning, and book repairs. 

Hourly pay starts at minimum wage, DOE.

Pratt Northam Summer Workership--Summer Reading Program Coordinator (300 hours over summer months, schedule tbd)

Student will implement programs for children, ages 0-12, including researching, planning, and facilitating, in coorporation with other library staff. The student will spend balance of hours working at the circulation desk, sorting and shelving books, working on small projects, and assisting patrons with computers and library resources. 

Skills developed will include program planning and evaluation, and working with library materials and technology. This workership experience will be particularly beneficial for students with interests and goals in early childhood development, education, human services, and/or library media.
